Manolis Christodoulakis, a PASOK MP, has addressed a letter to Athens Mayor Haris Doukas amidst the backdrop of the PASOK leadership election.
“In this critical juncture, hope demands transcendence and choices that unite forces,” states Manolis Christodoulakis. He emphasizes the urgency: “We cannot afford to waste time, indulge in personal egos, or be ensnared in endless, self-referential processes. Society is seeking a voice, and it demands action now. It calls upon us, and it will not wait.”
In his statement, Christodoulakis clarifies that he will not seek PASOK leadership but expresses strong support for the potential candidacy of Athens Mayor Haris Doukas. He asserts, “I firmly believe that the voice and aspirations of society are not about ‘me’ or personal ambition. I have always prioritized overcoming such narrow perspectives, and I choose the same now.”
Recognizing the gravity of shared responsibility, Christodoulakis underscores the need for a model that can unify and strengthen PASOK, challenge New Democracy, address societal needs, and pave the way for a victorious future. “We need courageous, decisive change—for the party, for the country! Shall we proceed, Haris?”
