Cretan society has been shocked by the murder case in Lassithi, with a young man found shot dead.

According to the cretalive, it is a family tragedy with the victim being murdered by his brother-in-law in Katharo Lassithi.

The 32-year-old was taken by an ambulance, but unfortunately, it was already too late.

He was transferred to the Agios Nikolaos Hospital, where his death was confirmed.

According to initial information, it all happened during a sheep shearing party in the area of Katharo. The two men had allegedly consumed a large amount of alcohol and at some point, the gunshot began, with the tragic result of the fatal injury of the 32-year-old from the double-barrelled shotgun held by his brother-in-law.

Immediately law enforcement authorities arrived at the scene where initial indications pointed to manslaughter by negligence, however, police officers are currently proceeding to an autopsy, collecting all evidence, and taking statements to investigate the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
