Psychiko: The shooter waited 1.5 hours for Stathis under his office and killed him when he parked

The crime was very well organized - Police officers are already examining a series of videos - The victim's professional activities in Mykonos are in the frame

Newsroom July 3 09:59

The end of the thread of the unplanned murder that took place on Tuesday morning (2/7) in Neo Psychiko with the victim of the 54-year-old topographer Panagiotis Stathis attempt to find the executives of Homicide in order to reach the traces of the perpetrator and the perpetrators.

According to EL.AΣ. officials, the crime was very well organized given the fact that it took place in a crowded place and at a time when most people are on the street to go to work. Apparently, the perpetrator knew by heart the program that the surveyor was following with some estimating that he probably had “rehearsed” before the hit in order to make sure that there were escape routes. So, on the day of the “hit”, he surprised the 54-year-old as he arrived at his office and was trying to park, killed him and went up in smoke.

The shooter’s movements before the surveyor’s murder:

Investigators point out that this is the first time they have seen such detail on the license plate of the scooter the shooter used: It even had a stamp copied from the MOT. The killer, based on the videos available to the Homicide Department of the Security Department, arrived in Neo Psychiko and set up a stakeout for the surveyor at around 7.00 am.

The officers of the Hellenic Police are already examining a series of videos in order to put together the puzzle of the crime and to identify the evidence that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator and those who “ordered” the murder.

Given the fact that the victim had a clean criminal record and had never concerned the authorities, the investigators are looking for answers in his past and in particular in his professional activities in the Cyclades islands, especially in Mykonos. So today they are expected to receive additional statements from people who knew about these activities.

According to reports, the 54-year-old had done surveying for major projects on the windy island as he had been active there since 2000 and was best man to a contractor on the island.

In addition, he had allegedly bought land in Ios, as in Mykonos, and had built villas in collaboration with other developers. At the same time, he had also undertaken a project of a well-known real estate entrepreneur.

In Mykonos he only went to Mykonos for work, while he and his partner in the Psychiko office had shared the business. Panagiotis Stathis did the surveying outside and his partner did the office work.

So maybe some people were annoyed with his activities and wanted to take him out of the way. However, the police think it is likely that some answers will be provided by the analysis of the victim’s mobile phone.
