With personal intervention, a policeman in Patras took an elderly man in his arms to remove him from the front of a fire that broke out at noon on Tuesday (9/7) outside Patras.

The shocking incident was recorded by Mega’s camera.

The fire endangered homes and the Karamandaneio hospital on the outskirts of Patras.

Dozens of firefighters, volunteers and residents, as well as police officers who helped those who could not easily move, were thrown into the battle with the front lines.
