The United Arab Emirates is abuzz with the news that the daughter of Dubai’s prime minister, Princess Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has divorced her husband through an Instagram post.
The public divorce announcement came just two months after the princess had a child with her husband, Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
In her message, the 30-year-old princess wrote: “My dear husband, as you are busy with other company, I announce our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you. Take care, your former wife.”
According to the Daily Mail, after this post, the couple, who married in May 2023, unfollowed each other on social media and removed all their shared photos from their social media platforms.
So far, there has been no reaction from the Maktoum household, the royal family of Dubai.
Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. The 30-year-old graduated from a university in London with a degree in International Relations and is known for advocating women’s rights.
Sheikh Mohammed, on the other hand, is one of the largest property owners in the United Kingdom. According to The Guardian, he owns over 400,000 acres of land in London, Scotland, and Suffolk.
