Gov.gr Wallet: From today the entrance to the stadiums exclusively with an electronic ticket

From June 2024 to date, more than 57 thousand personalised season tickets have been added to the fans' digital wallets

Newsroom July 24 10:26

From today, entry to stadiums will be exclusively with a digital ticket via Gov.gr Wallet, while from September 16, 2024, fans of Basket League basketball games will follow the same procedure.

As the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou told APE MPE, “from today, Greek fans are entering the stadiums to watch the games of their favorite teams exclusively with their tickets in their digital wallets. The identification is done in the most modern and secure way. Gov.gr Wallet is the technological tool that makes the everyday life of citizens more friendly and simple in this area as well. The government has shown from the beginning its determination to make stadiums safe places for sports rivalry and coexistence . With the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, we worked together to contribute as the Ministry of Digital Governance to an important reform in the field of Greek sports. Technology is our ally and we will continue to work to improve the daily lives of citizens in a more efficient and digital state.”

It is worth noting that for season tickets, the same will normally apply as for ordinary tickets, while for fans over 67 years old without a “smart” mobile phone there will be a special procedure in order for identification to be done in the traditional way.

According to the data so far provided by the Ministry of Digital Governance, more than 57 thousand personalised season tickets have been added to the digital wallet of fans from June 2024 to date. Specifically, in football more than 86% of season tickets have been identified through Gov.gr Wallet, i.e. more than 51 thousand tickets, while in basketball more than 61% of season tickets have been identified, which corresponds to more than 6.4 thousand tickets.

It should be recalled that it is particularly simple for citizens to identify through the Gov.gr Wallet app on their mobile phone. A prerequisite is to register with the National Communication Registry (NCR) at emep.gov.gr before downloading the Gov.gr Wallet app from Google Play or the App Store. The procedure is described in detail at tickets.gov.gr.

Fans can obtain their match ticket from ticketing service providers, with no change to this process.

Following:

– Open the Gov.gr Wallet

– They select the insert tab and top right add (+)

– Select “Add Adult Ticket”

– They turn on the mobile camera and scan the QR Code or Barcode of the ticket. Alternatively, they manually enter the ticket number

– The ticket is added to the relevant list of available tickets

On completion of the process, by selecting the ticket in the relevant list of Gov.gr Wallet, the QR Code or Barcode is displayed with which citizens enter the stadiums. As for minors over 15 years old, who have personal TaxisNet codes and their mobile phone is registered on emep.gov.gr, they will follow the same procedure.

If citizens want to accompany their minor child under 15 years old to the game, the process of adding the ticket will take place after the completion of the process of adding their own ticket.

More specifically, after opening the Gov.gr Wallet application and selecting the ticket tab :

– They select “Add Minor Ticket”

– They select the dependent member for whom they want to register the ticket

– Enter the ticket code of the minor

– In “Select a companion” they select “I” and the ticket is added to the relevant list in their Gov.gr Wallet

If they want a third person to accompany the minor child, after entering the minor’s ticket code :

– They select “Third Person”, instead of “I”, and enter the TIN of the adult who will accompany the minor

– Then the adult, who they have chosen to accompany the minor, receives a notification via email informing them of the request to accompany the minor in the Gov.gr Wallet

– In Gov.gr Wallet, the adult who will accompany the minor child chooses to accept the minor’s escort

– Subsequently, the minor’s ticket appears in the ticket list of the adult accompanying the minor.
