An alarm was raised Wednesday morning in fire department after an leakage of an unknown chemical from containers at a fabric business in the industrial area of Thessaloniki.

30 firefighters with three vehicles and among them a special team of chemicals were rushed to the scene. The mobilization was triggered after a call was made to the Fire Service at 08.24 for smoke from the premises of the company.

It is noted that it was deemed necessary and a precautionary evacuation of the premises and nearby businesses was carried out, while the leak was checked and the containers removed.

Preliminary investigation is being conducted by the competent department of the Fire Department.
