At 12 noon today, friends and family will say their final goodbye to Demi Georgiou who passed away suddenly at the age of 39, leaving her loved ones in shock.
The funeral will take place at the A’ Cemetery of Athens. Demis’s last wish was that everyone wear white at her funeral, which of course will come true.
Her companion was Mariolena Xiromeritis. The two of them lived and worked together in Paros, at the restaurant the famous chef had opened.
Mariolena announced through her Instagram account that she has taken the decision to continue operating the restaurant in Paros, with the recipes left by Demi Georgiou. “Tomorrow we will all say goodbye to my Demi at the 1st Cemetery of Athens, at 12 noon. You did it my love, I will continue your/our work as we had dreamed,” he wrote.
The funeral of the former MasterChef contestant will be followed by coffee at a bar in Mets. It is the wish of those close to her that it be held in a youthful and pleasant atmosphere.
According to information from alphanews.live, on Friday, July 26, her friends are organizing what Demi Georgiou herself wished for and even expressed it while she was alive. They are preparing a beach party in Paros, at sunset.
The famous chef had asked for a party as if it were a wedding, with everyone dressed in white and laughing. In fact, there will be rides in the sea on the jet ski that Demi Georgiou had bought for her wedding day.
It is noted that these days, the chef’s home in Pagrati remains open for friends and acquaintances who wish to visit it in her memory.
It is recalled that the 39-year-old was transferred by helicopter to Athens where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the General State Hospital of Nice, but she did not manage to overcome the serious infection. The last “goodbye” will be said by relatives and friends on Thursday, July 25. As it became known, the funeral of the former Masterchef player will take place at 12.00 noon at the A’ Cemetery.
According to a post by her friends on social media, Demis’ wish was for everyone to be there dressed in white. “Instead of wreaths, Demi would like you to make a donation to the stray animals of Paros. Let’s all pray for her soul together,” her close friends said in the video, hours after her death.
