In his address before the start of the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke about inflation, government interventions in electricity, the Digital Tutoring program, the modernization of the Cadastre, and the procedures to accelerate the administration of justice.
“The work continues in the heart of summer. The measures do not go on vacation. On the first front, inflation, we have encouraging news, an improved inflation picture, and price reductions in supermarkets, the measures are starting to pay off. Today, the relevant provision for an urgent energy market intervention is being voted on in Parliament. The government is ready for the benefit of consumers. Hopefully, it will be something we don’t need to do more frequently. We remain on high alert for the smooth functioning of the market.”
As for the cabinet meeting, the issues to be addressed are as follows:
- Presentation by Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis of the bill: Interventions in the Code of Civil Procedure, the Code of Judicial Organization and Status of Judicial Officers, and the Code of Criminal Procedure for the implementation of the new judicial map.
- Presentation by Environment and Energy Minister Theodoros Skylakakis of the bill for the modernization of waste management.
- Presentation by Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou and Deputy Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis of the bill for the completion of cadastral mapping.
- Finally, a presentation by Minister of State Akis Skertsos on the revision of the 2024 Ministry Action Plans.
