The fire rages in Pissona of Evia – Message from 112 for evacuation of the settlement of Afrati

The fire that broke out just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday (7/31) in Evia.

According to local media, the fire started burning reeds and spread to a forest area in Pissona in the municipality of Dirfya Messapia.

Shortly before 16.30 a message was sent by 112 for evacuation of the settlement of Afrati: “Forest fire in your area. If you are in the area of Afrati Evia, please move away towards Vasilikos” the message said.

Fire brigade forces have been reinforced and now 120 firefighters with 5 teams of firefighters on foot, and 40 vehicles are operating. From the air, 11 aircraft and 3 helicopters are operating, including one helicopter for coordination. Assistance from water trucks and OTA project machinery.
