Olympic Games: Drisbioti Finishes 22nd in Women’s 20km Race Walk

Antigoni Drisbioti concluded her performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by securing the 22nd position in the women’s 20km race walk final.

The Greek champion began the race conservatively and increased her pace after the 10km mark, maintaining a faster speed which allowed her to move up a few positions. The European race walking champion completed the race holding multiple flags, given to her by supporters along the track.

This was her third appearance in the 20km race walk final at the Olympics, following London 2012 (12th place) and Tokyo 2021 (8th place).

The gold medal was claimed by Chinese athlete Yajie Yang with a remarkable time of 1:25:54, followed by Spanish athlete María Pérez with 1:26:19. The podium was completed by Australian Jemima Montag with 1:26:25, setting a new continental record.
