Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson fell victim to a burglary, as reported by TMZ on Monday, August 5th.

Police sources stated, according to the same information, that the burglars broke into the couple’s estate in Los Angeles in broad daylight, smashing windows to gain entry into the house and steal valuable items from the actors.

“The incident happened in broad daylight a few days ago while the couple was out of town,” the report states, noting that the burglars’ attempt was noticed when the alarm was triggered by the broken glass as they tried to enter a guesthouse on Hanks and Wilson’s property.

“An alarm activated by the broken glass wasn’t enough to stop the burglars from getting inside. However, the good news here is that the burglars did not manage to get into the main part of the house,” it mentions, suggesting that the burglars might not have had time to rob the couple.

So far, it is unclear if any valuable items were stolen, but the case remains under investigation.
