Emmanouil Karalis delivered an impressive performance in the pole vault final yesterday, securing the bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games! The remarkable Manolo cleared all heights on his first attempt up to 5.90 meters, missed once at 5.95 meters, and then at 6 meters, but he had already secured the first Olympic medal of his career and the 6th for the Greek delegation (the first in athletics) at the Paris Olympics.
Today, it’s his friend’s turn to increase Greece’s medal count to 7. Miltos Tentoglou will enter the men’s long jump final at 21:15 with the goal of winning his second consecutive gold medal after Tokyo. Let’s remember that the Greek Olympian easily qualified for the long jump final in Paris, needing just one jump of 8.32 meters in the preliminaries to surpass the qualifying mark of 8.15 meters.
The Greek national teams in basketball (at 12:00 against Germany) and women’s water polo (at 20:00 against Australia) will also fight in their quarterfinals on the 11th day of the Olympic Games in the French capital.
In sailing, Cameron Alexander Maramenides will compete on the 3rd day of the formula kite event, while siblings Ariadne and Odysseas Spanakis continue in the mixed 470 event.
