An ongoing fire that broke out yesterday at noon in Rethymno, Crete. In particular, shortly before 3.30pm the main front is east of Agia Paraskevi towards Vathiakos.
A new message was also sent a short while ago by 112 to those in the Platanos area to move away towards Lorhia. A message had previously been sent to those in Vathiakos to evacuate towards Platanos.

The firefighting forces have been reinforced and now operate, 228 firefighters with 47 vehicles, 14 teams of firefighters and periodically 10 aircraft and 6 helicopters, of which 2 are coordinators.

Earlier, 112 messages were sent to those in the Apodoulou area to move away towards Fourfouras, and to those in Agia Paraskevi to head towards Mandres.
