The Greek European champion did not make it into the top eight after her first three throws, leading to her elimination from the rest of the javelin final.
Tzengko’s first throw reached 61.85 meters, her second attempt was invalid, and her third throw was 57.90 meters. As a result, she finished in 9th place and did not advance to the medal contention round.
Immediately after her third throw, Tzengko broke down in tears and sought comfort in the arms of her coach, Giorgos Botskariov. This was her first appearance at the Olympic Games, and at just 21 years old, the champion has a bright future ahead of her.
It’s worth noting that in 2022 in Munich, Tzengko was crowned European champion!
