The Greek Olympic Committee selected Karalis after he won the bronze medal in Paris with a jump of 5.90 meters.
Earlier, gold medalist Miltiadis Tentoglou had expressed his desire to carry the Greek flag at the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
It should be noted that at the opening ceremony, the flag bearers were Giannis Antetokounmpo and Antigoni Ntrismpioti.
“Manolo,” as Karalis is known, is also a well-known content creator and didn’t miss the chance to share the message he sent to “Greek Freak” about carrying the flag at the closing ceremony. Specifically, in a post by the 24-year-old athlete, he is seen sending a message to Giannis Antetokounmpo: “Guess who’s taking the flag at the closing ceremony,” to which the Bucks and Greece star replied: “You’re kidding! Congratulations!”

In the same post, Karalis is seen posing with his medal, showing the broad smile of his father, Harry, celebrating their success, and revealing that his good friend, Olympic gold medalist Mondo Duplantis, made a video call to him from Santorini, where he’s vacationing with his girlfriend.
