Anna Sorokin: Returning to Social Media – Court Ruling Allows Her to Reopen Her Accounts

The infamous con artist now has the opportunity to tell her own story through social media

Newsroom August 19 07:10

Anna Sorokin Can Reopen Her Social Media Accounts

According to PageSix, a judge has allowed the “fake heiress” to return to social media and regain control of her narrative.

Sorokin, who was imprisoned in 2019 for fraud and financial crimes after posing as a wealthy German heiress in New York, was placed under house arrest upon her release from prison and prohibited from posting on social media.

Last year, her legal team filed a petition arguing that the restrictions served no legitimate purpose and violated her constitutional rights.

A year later, the judge reversed the decision, permitting her to be active on social media again and share her own story with the public.

In a statement to PageSix, Anna Sorokin said: “I would like to thank the U.S. judicial system and especially my attorneys John Sandweg and Catherine Hunstad for fighting for my rights under the First Amendment. I am also grateful and excited to be able to control my own narrative once again on social media.”
