Swimmers were confronted with a sad sight in the sea on Monday morning in the area of Almiros in Kalamata.

They found that a deer was found dead in the sea, with the cause of death not yet known.

The coast guard was immediately alerted, which in turn informed the OAK Messinia.

Volunteers arrived at the spot with a lifeboat, tied the unfortunate animal and pulled it to the shore at “Filoxenia”.
