It’s now official: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are splitting up for the second time. The singer and actress filed for divorce from her now-former husband after two years of marriage.
According to TMZ, JLo filed the divorce documents in Los Angeles on Tuesday—the same day as the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Lopez stated the separation date as April 26, 2024, indicating that the couple has been apart for nearly four months.
After a relationship spanning two decades, two engagements, two marriages, and more headlines than can be counted, Jennifer Lopez has officially ended her relationship with Ben Affleck.
The filing on Tuesday at the Los Angeles Superior Court put an end to a famous couple—or at least the second chapter of it—that had graced countless tabloid covers.
In May, Lopez canceled her summer tour “This Is Me… Now” with a statement that read: “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
The couple was last photographed together in May. Affleck was noticeably absent from Lopez’s 55th birthday celebrations in the Hamptons in July. He was also not present for their second wedding anniversary in Vegas that same month.
Just last week, JLo was spotted at Affleck’s rental home for his 52nd birthday. She later danced the night away at a Bruno Mars concert.
After meeting, falling in love, and getting engaged in the early 2000s—and starring together in the infamous “Gigli” in 2003 and “Jersey Girl” in 2004—the couple broke up, partly blaming the pressures of the media.
