The New Democracy MEP Giorgos Aftias spoke about his health adventure over the summer on Monday morning.
Speaking to Sky, he revealed that he was diagnosed with pericarditis.
“I felt chills, it was 40 degrees and I was cold,” the ND MEP described, stressing that at the hospital doctors told him “if you get on the plane now, you will die.”
“I had about 5 liters of fluid around the heart. I spent 13 days in hospital with two tubes and tons of antibiotics. I praise God that I am alive,” he said.
