“We’ve moved past that. He can’t call me ‘Dad’ when we’re doing our job. I’ve prohibited it and I’ve made it clear. When we leave the court, yes, I’m still his dad. But when we’re working, it’s different. On the court, he can call me ’23,’ ‘Bron,’ or ‘GOAT’ if he wants (laughs). It’s up to him how he addresses me.
Of course, it’s easier for me because I’ve been calling him Bronny for years; I don’t need to call him ‘son’ all the time. So he’s the one who needs to get used to it. He can’t be running on the court shouting ‘Dad, I’m open, pass me the ball!’” LeBron said in the podcast “The Shot.”
