Rapid developments within SYRIZA, as the motion of no confidence against Stefanos Kasselakis, submitted by 87 members and supported by Pavlos Polakis, comfortably passed in the Central Committee vote.
According to reports, the motion passed with 163 votes in favor, 120 against, and 3 invalid or blank votes.
It should be noted that 286 members of the Central Committee participated in the vote—210 in person and 76 via telephone.
Following this development, it appears that SYRIZA is heading for another leadership election.
Based on SYRIZA’s regulations, the next step is an emergency congress where candidates will be officially declared.
Pavlos Polakis has already announced his candidacy, and Stefanos Kasselakis has also confirmed that he will be a candidate in the process.
