According to information from Cyclades24, the former prosecutor passed away from a heart attack on Friday (13/09) while on the island where he maintains a holiday home. His funeral was held in Kythnos.

Apart from the “17 November” case, Diotis as a judicial officer was involved – among other things – with the ELA case, the investigation, as a prosecutor of the first instance, into the suicide of Vodafone executive Konstantinos Tsalikidis, a case related to the wiretapping scandal. He was equally passionate about the international antiquities smuggling ring, when the villa of Michaelides in Schinoussa was the focus of interest.

He was born in Agrinio in 1955 and studied law at the Law School of the University of Athens. After graduating in 1980, he went into private practice as a lawyer and joined the judiciary in 1985. He served as Prosecutor of Athens, as Deputy Prosecutor of the Athens and Amaliada District Courts, as Prosecutor of the Athens District Courts and as Deputy Prosecutor of the Athens Appeals Court, a position he held until 2010, when he retired from the judiciary.
