Weather: Dangerous phenomena are coming – Where attention is needed Tuesday & Wednesday

Sharp instability is expected to prevail in the coming days in Greece, with emphasis on the western, central and northern geographical regions, according to meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis.

As he pointed out in a post, heavy rain and thunderstorms will occur at times and in places, accompanied by intense lightning, hail or sharp increases in winds. Specifically for today Tuesday, the phenomena will start from central Macedonia, the northwestern Aegean and towards the central and northern Ionian Sea to extend towards the evening and Thessaly.

“On Wednesday, the phenomena will spread across the entire western, central and northern part of the country. This strong instability will persist at least until Friday. We show the required caution,” Marousakis stressed.

Kolydas: autumn week with rain

The director of the National Meteorological Service, Thodoris Kolydas, spoke in a post about autumn rains during the week, possibly locally heavy.

For Tuesday (17/9), showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly in Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades, eastern Sterea, Evia and the Ionian Sea. The phenomena are likely to be locally strong in the west in the evening.

Weather forecast for Wednesday (18/9)

In the Ionian, Epirus, western Sterea, Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades and northern Evia cloudy with showers and thunderstorms which are likely to be locally heavy mainly in the Ionian and Thessaly. In the evening the phenomena will weaken in the evening. In the rest of the mainland (except Thrace) and in southern Evia, unstable weather with occasionally increasing clouds and mainly in the midday and afternoon hours local rain and isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, thin clouds, occasionally denser.

Forecast for Thursday (19/9)

In the Ionian Sea, Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades and northern Evia cloudy with local rain and occasional thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times in the Ionian Sea. In the evening the phenomena will weaken.
In the rest of the mainland, southern Evia and the mountains of Crete, a few clouds, partly increasing in the midday and afternoon hours when local rain and isolated thunderstorms will occur. In the rest of the country, thin clouds, occasionally denser.

Weather forecast for Friday (20/9)

First in the west, Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades and northern Evia, clouds partly cloudy with local rain and mainly in the Ionian Sea sporadic thunderstorms. The phenomena will gradually extend to the rest of the mainland (except Thrace). In the rest of the island country thin clouds which will gradually thicken from the west.

The weather on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service

Showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades, eastern Sterea, Evia and Ionian Sea. The phenomena will probably be strong in the west in the evening.
Winds will blow in the Ionian Sea from southerly directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea from northerly directions with the same intensity.
The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach 24 to 26 degrees Celsius in the west and north and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius in the east and south.
