Traffic restrictions on Saturday and Sunday in central Athens

Due to the celebration of World Car-Free Day, there will be road closures and a ban on stopping and parking on streets in central Athens from 8:00 PM on Saturday until 10:00 PM on Sunday

As part of the “This is Athens-City Festival” by the Municipality of Athens and the celebration of World Car-Free Day, traffic will be halted and parking prohibited on the following streets in central Athens from 8:00 PM on Saturday (21/9) until 10:00 PM on Sunday (22/9):

  • Athinas Street, between Evripidou and Ermou Streets, in both directions, including its cross streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Karageorgi Servias Street, along its entire length.
  • Perikleous Street, along its entire length.
  • Athinaidos Street, along its entire length.
  • Agias Irinis Street, along its entire length.
  • Agion Asomaton Square, between Sarri and Ermou Streets, in the direction toward Ermou Street.
  • Ermou Street, between Agion Asomaton and Athinas Streets, in the direction toward Athinas Street.

The Traffic Police urge drivers to avoid these streets, avenues, and squares during the specified times to ease traffic and avoid additional disruptions.
