Autumn Weather Continues: Strengthening North Winds Sweep Across the Aegean Sea

Flooding in Halkidiki, Chilly Single-Digit Lows in Central and Northern Areas – Weather to Gradually Improve by Sunday

Newsroom September 21 10:58

Autumnal weather will remain setting the scene today, with some rain and occasional thunderstorms in several parts of the country. By Sunday, however, rainfall will be significantly reduced and there will be much more sunshine. Northern winds will increase in the Aegean Sea and will reach up to 7 Beaufort in some places over the weekend. The temperature will not change significantly, with maximum values ranging between 24-28 degrees.

Overflowing torrent in Halkidiki
Heavy rainfall that hit Halkidiki last night caused problems. The downpour caused a torrent to overflow, resulting in the closure of a section of the provincial road between Nea Moudania and Kallikratia.

Traffic was interrupted at the 11th kilometer of the provincial road Nea Moudania – Kallikratia and was conducted via the highway Thessaloniki – Nea Moudania, according to an announcement by the General Regional Police Directorate of Central Macedonia.
