A tragedy occurred on Tuesday morning in Chania when a worker fell from a great height while performing work on the roof of a building.

The unfortunate man was working as an electrician in the Askifou area, in Sfakia, when under currently unclear circumstances, he lost his balance and fell. His death was instantaneous.

An ambulance from the Emergency Medical Service (EKAV) arrived at the scene, where paramedics simply confirmed his death.

A team from the labor inspection service will be present at the site where the work was being carried out to conduct an investigation.
