The Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis spoke about the Greek 13-year-old hacker who managed to hack into the systems of all ministries.

He said, “We’ve taken a program that involves kids who have been delinquent in the past and they’ve taken on mentoring kids who are now in turn delinquent. There was a 13-year-old hacker who broke all the cybersecurity of the ministries. And because he was unaware of what he was doing, he was also informing the ministries that he had broken their code.”

He went on to say that “they caught this guy, and this kid is a mentor now. He happened to run into good judges who saw that he is a genius and gave him an opportunity to grow. When he was 16, the Israelis came to take him for their own companies. But he couldn’t go because he was a minor. Now he works in a big company in Greece.”
