Culture Minister Olga Kefalogianni has issued a statement in which she talks about a crisis in her marriage to Minoa Matsa.
As she says, she is experiencing difficult times and at this stage, her main concern is her children.
In detail the statement of Olga Kefalogianni:
“In my political career, I have always been honest and I have never hidden, even on issues that do not concern purely politics but touch on my personal or family life. In recent days I have been facing a crisis in my marriage.
My primary concern is the interest of my two children. I appeal that their privacy and personal lives be respected. In this difficult time I am experiencing, I remain committed to my children and my official duties.
Olga Kefalogianni”
The announcement from Ms. Kefalogianni follows reports and publications suggesting the couple’s separation.
The Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, married Minos Matsas in 2021, after having been in a relationship for some time prior.
Olga Kefalogianni’s relationship with Minos Matsas is said to have begun in late 2019. They made a public appearance together at the 2019 Theatrical Audience Awards, held at the “Alexandra Trianti” Hall of the Athens Concert Hall, and were photographed a few days later side by side at the Pallas Theater, during the premiere of the film Eftychia, for which Matsas composed the original score, including the title song.
They were married in May 2021 in a civil ceremony on the island of Spetses, with Olga Kefalogianni’s cousin, Chrysi, daughter of Giorgos Vardinogiannis and Agapi Politi, serving as the maid of honor.
In a previous interview, Olga Kefalogianni spoke about her first meeting with Minos Matsas, noting, “When I first met Minos Matsas, he didn’t know who I was. I had just watched a performance for which he had composed the music. When we were introduced, I wanted to congratulate him on his work. I remember he asked me what I did for a living. I was momentarily surprised, but I quickly realized that he is a genuine artist who is not very involved with public affairs. That always has its own charm. Human interaction that transcends professional roles and labels proves to be interesting.“
