Greek woman imprisoned for human trafficking conviction

A Greek woman, who had been sentenced for violating immigration laws, was arrested after it was proven she played a key role in a network that transported illegal migrants within Greece

Despite a severe prison sentence hanging over her, she had been living freely until she was located by security police in Xanthi and brought before the Xanthi Public Prosecutor, who ordered her imprisonment to serve the 20-year sentence along with a monetary fine.

Fugitive Sent to Prison

Another Greek woman was also sent to prison under the orders of the Public Prosecutor of Volos. She was arrested in the Thessaly city by security police due to an outstanding conviction from the Three-Member Misdemeanor Court of Volos for theft, which resulted in a four-year prison sentence.

In Nafplio, a 41-year-old Greek man was arrested by DI.AS. police because he had an outstanding conviction from the One-Member Misdemeanor Court of Nafplio for fraud and forgery.

In Corinth, security police handcuffed a 30-year-old Greek man who had an outstanding conviction from the One-Member Misdemeanor Court of Athens for theft.
