Three Greek Bars Make Their Mark in the Global Rankings

The list of positions 51-100 for The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 has been announced, featuring three well-known Greek bars at ranks 51, 60, and 68. The extensive list was made public two weeks ahead of the awards ceremony, which will take place this year on October 22 in Madrid.

The Award-Winning Greek Bars
In 51st place is “The Bar in Front of the Bar,” which, after just two years of operation and last year’s ranking at 98, demonstrates its potential to break into the top fifty. In 60th place is the acclaimed “The Clumsies,” which has consistently ranked among the world’s 50 best bars for eight consecutive years, winning the Rémy Martin Legend of the List Award last year. Finally, at 68th place (two spots up from last year) is “Barro Negro,” the tequila and mezcal bar known for its intriguing cocktails.

The complete list of positions 51-100 includes bars from 35 different cities worldwide, as well as 12 new entries. In Europe, there are 18 bars in the ranking, five of which are new participants.

  • The Savoury Project (No. 82, Hong Kong)
  • Smoke & Bitters (No. 86, Sri Lanka)
  • Penrose (No. 98, Kuala Lumpur)

The World’s 50 Best Bars Initiative
This initiative is one of the most significant in the industry, which began in the late 2010s and has traveled from London to Singapore. This year, the 50 Best Awards will be held in Madrid, a city renowned for its vibrant culture and culinary scene. The voting panel consists of over 700 independent experts in spirits and cocktails, including renowned bartenders, trainers, and award-winning authors.
