Following his Monday morning post, SYRIZA’s press office issued a statement calling the decision “irrevocable.”

Kasselakis’ team responded, calling the party’s announcement “Stalinist” and reminding that the Congress, the party’s highest authority, can reject or confirm all decisions of the Central Committee.

Kasselakis’ office emphasized that according to Article 20 of the party’s charter, the Congress holds the ultimate authority to reject or approve decisions made by the Central Committee. They warned against making such “Stalinist” announcements a regular occurrence.
