Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman for International Affairs, Sheikh Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq, on the sidelines of the first EU-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit.
During the meetings, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of promoting EU-GCC relations, particularly at this time of major regional challenges.
Regarding developments in the Middle East, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the need to de-escalate and avoid inflammation in the wider region and reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire and restraint.
They also discussed the prospects of strengthening economic cooperation and investment opportunities in Greece, with emphasis on the country’s position as a commercial and energy hub and gateway to Europe.
