The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, who was the first public figure to announce the death of Yahya Sinwar yesterday, made a post today targeting Erdogan.
Addressing the Turkish president, who has repeatedly expressed support for Hamas, Katz emphasized, “Take back your rapist and murderer friend, Sinwar,” and accompanied his message with a photo of the slain leader of the terrorist organization lying amidst the rubble in Rafah.
It is worth noting that in recent statements, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that if Israel’s “expansionism” doesn’t stop, it poses a threat to Turkey, which he sees approaching, and therefore Turkey is taking precautions.
Specifically, he stated, “If Israel, which is becoming more spoiled and more unruly, is not stopped, we can foresee where this expansionism will lead. Although some people in our country do not see the approaching danger, we see the danger and are taking every precaution.”
A few days ago, the Turkish president spoke at the conference “The Future of Palestine,” organized by the International Relations and Human Rights departments of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), where he said, among other things: “The attacks launched by Israel against Gaza on October 7th of last year brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront of humanity’s agenda. The ongoing massacres in Gaza, which have claimed the lives of around 50,000 innocent people, mainly children and women, have once again drawn the world’s attention to the persecution of the Palestinian people. Israel’s policy of genocide, now extending from Gaza to Lebanon, has also played a crucial role in exposing humanity to the true face of Zionism. Once again, through this process, we all saw up close how the Zionist lobby controls global powers and systems, how it controls the economy, trade, the media, the film industry, every branch of art, the academic community, universities, and even the state, military, and political bureaucracy in certain countries.”
