Incidents of juvenile delinquency are on the rise, with minors increasingly involved in criminal activities. In Larissa, three students were arrested after extorting a fellow classmate within their school grounds.
According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), on the morning of Wednesday, October 23, the three minors threatened their classmate during a school break, demanding he give them 60 euros by Saturday, October 26, or they would beat him up.
However, the victim refused to give in to the extortion and informed his parents, who then reported the incident to the local police station.
The three minors were arrested later that evening by officers from the Larissa Security Subdivision, in collaboration with the local police department.
Additionally, the parents of the minors were also arrested for neglecting to supervise their children properly.
The three minors now face charges of attempted extortion, and the Larissa Security Subdivision is conducting further investigations.
