Serbian President Alexandar Vučić said he was delighted with his meeting with the prime ministers of Greece and Poland, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Donald Tusk. Vucic said the two prime ministers conveyed “encouraging” messages about Serbia’s European perspective.
The Greek prime minister and his Polish counterpart attended a working dinner hosted by the Serbian president in Belgrade last night.
The dinner lasted more than four hours and the main topic of discussion was Serbia’s European course.
“PM Mitsotakis and PM Tusk, who are currently the most powerful prime ministers coming from the European People’s Party, conveyed very important messages to me about EU membership and Serbia’s progress. He is aware of the skepticism I often express around this, but now their visit opens new horizons and creates new hopes, if not for an acceleration of the process then for a different approach,” Al. Vučić during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Vucic said that during last night’s meeting, all aspects of Serbia’s European course were discussed openly and frankly, noting that the encouraging messages conveyed by the two prime ministers will have an impact on society.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is currently on an official visit to Serbia, said at the press conference that during the Polish presidency of the EU, Serbia’s accession will be a priority.
“The European Union cannot be complete if it does not integrate Serbia into its ranks,” said Donald Tusk.
