Traffic restrictions will be imposed on metro and tram services tomorrow Monday by order of the Hellenic Police, due to the parades to celebrate the National Anniversary of October 28th 1940.
According to an update from STASY:
– The metro station “Syntagma” will be closed at 8 am and trains will pass through it without stopping.
– The tram line 6 “Picrodaphne – Syntagma” will have a temporary terminal at the “FIX” stop from 8 am.
– Line 7 of the tram “Asklepiion Voula – Agia Triada Piraeus” will have a temporary terminal at the stop “SEF” from 9 in the morning.
The restoration of traffic in the metro and tram networks is expected after the completion of the festive events.
Which roads will be closed
Due to the student parades tomorrow, extraordinary traffic regulations will be carried out in all the municipalities of the Prefecture of Attica with a gradual stop of vehicle traffic, depending on the prevailing traffic conditions and until the end of the events.
In particular, in the Municipalities of Athens and Piraeus, vehicle traffic will be interrupted as follows:
* MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS, from 09.00 until the end of the parade:
– Vas. Amalias, along its entire length and on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
– El. Venizelos (Panepistimiou), along its entire length and its verticals until the first parallel street.
– Ave. Vas. Venizelos (Panepistimiou) in both (2) traffic streams, as well as on the perpendiculars of this street until the first parallel street.
– Ave. Syngrou, in the section between the streets Ath. Diakou and Dionysiou Areopagitou.
– Ath. Diakou, along its entire length and on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
* MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS [Athens Cathedral (Doxology)], from 06.00 until the end of the doxology:
– Metropoleos, along its entire length and on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
* MUNICIPALITY OF PIRAEUS, from 09.00 until 14.00:
– 34th Infantry Regiment, in the section between Homeridou Skylitsis and El. Venizelos.
– Heroes of Polytechnic, in the section between El. Venizelos and 2nd Division.
– Bas. Lambraki.
The Traffic Police appeals to the drivers of vehicles to prevent additional traffic problems to avoid driving on the above roads and to follow the instructions of the traffic regulators.
The weather tomorrow and for the next week
The weather continues to move at a summer pace, as – by all indications – temperatures will remain at unseasonably high levels until Tuesday.
According to the latest forecasts, the weekend of October 28 is rolling along with sunny weather and good temperatures, and the same weather conditions will prevail tomorrow, the day of October 28.
According to all indications, the same weather will continue in our region, at least until next Tuesday (29/10). Thus, the weather conditions will be very good for those returning from a trip to land or sea, with meteorologist Dimitris Ziakopoulos warning that the problem of water scarcity for agriculture, and beyond, will unfortunately become more acute, “considering that (significant) rainfall in the country is not expected throughout next week.”
The forecast for tomorrow, on the day of the National Day of October 28
Nearly clear weather with sparse clouds, occasionally more dense mainly in the Ionian Sea and the mainland. Locally limited visibility in the morning hours mainly in the west and north.
Winds will blow from the north from 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the Cyclades during the day up to 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will rise slightly and will be slightly above normal for the season. In the north it will reach 24 to 25 degrees Celsius, in the center 25 to 26 degrees and in the south locally 27 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the northern and central lowlands of the mainland will be around 3 to 6 degrees Celsius.
TUESDAY 29-10-2024
Generally clear weather with a few sparse clouds.
Visibility in the west will be limited in places during the morning hours.
Winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 4, in the Ionian Sea locally 5 Beaufort and in the east 4 to 5, in the Aegean Sea 5 to 6 and locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will rise slightly further mainly in the south and will be slightly above normal for the season. In the northern mainland and the northern Aegean islands it will reach 23 to 25 degrees Celsius and in the rest of the country 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the lowlands of the central and northern mainland will be around 4 to 7 degrees Celsius.
WEDNESDAY 30-10-2024
In the east and the north of the mainland and in Crete, a few clouds with local rain. In the remaining areas generally clear.
Visibility will be limited in some places in the morning hours.
Winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 4, in the Ionian Sea locally 5 to 6 Beaufort and in the east 4 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea 6 to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly, mainly in the east and north.
THURSDAY 31-10-2024
In the east and the south of the mainland, clouds, partly cloudy with local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, the weather will be generally clear.
Winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 4, in the Ionian Sea locally 5 Beaufort, in the east 4 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea 6 and locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly further, mainly in the west and north.
FRIDAY 01-11-2024
In the east and south of the country a few clouds in the east and south of the country, occasionally increasing in places with a possibility of local rain. In the rest of the regions generally clear with locally limited visibility in the morning hours.
Winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 4, in the Ionian Sea locally up to 5 Beaufort and in the east 4 to 5, in the Aegean Sea 6 and locally 7 Beaufort with gradual weakening from midday.
The temperature will not show any significant change.
