A ten-story hotel collapsed in the early morning (local time) today in the coastal city of Villa Gessel in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina, local municipal authorities said.
Between seven and nine people, including workers at a construction site allegedly operating without the necessary permits at the Dubrovnik Hotel, were believed to have been inside the building at the time, according to the statement.
Rescue teams are removing debris to extricate people, Vila Gessel authorities noted, adding that the municipality had suspended construction work at the site last August.
