The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) Appeals Committee has rejected PAOK’s appeal regarding the punishment of Razvan Lucescu for incidents that occurred during the league derby between AEK and PAOK in Nea Filadelfia.
As a result, the initial decision by the sports judge is upheld, which imposed a 23-day ban on the Romanian coach from entering the field and locker rooms.
Practically, this means that in addition to today’s (10/30) Greek Cup game against Aigaleo, Lucescu will also miss the upcoming league matches against Lamia (11/3, away) and Olympiacos (11/10, home).
The statement:
“The EPO Appeals Committee reached the following decisions during its latest session:
1) Formally accepted the appeal by Kyriakos Giantsidis, Razvan Lucescu, and Efthymios Kaltabanidis.
The appeal was partially upheld on substantive grounds concerning the first appellant, Kyriakos Giantsidis.
The decision was modified regarding the above appellant.
The following penalties were imposed on the first appellant: a) a 15-day ban from the field and locker rooms, and b) a fine of five thousand (5,000) euros.
The appeal was rejected on substantive grounds for the second (Razvan Lucescu) and third (Efthymios Kaltabanidis) appellants.
2) Formally and substantively accepted Daniel Vega’s appeal.
The decision No. 201/24-10-2024 by the Super League 1 Greece Disciplinary Committee was modified concerning the appellant Daniel Vega.
Daniel Vega was acquitted of the disciplinary violation under Article 11, paragraphs 2 and 4 of the EPO Disciplinary Code.”
