“Where will the conference take place? What is the capacity of the venue, and what is the functionality of the space if it is confirmed that this is indeed the GAZI live venue? Where will the delegates be certified?” These were some of the questions raised during her remarks at today’s meeting of the Political Secretariat, according to sources, by Theodora Tzakri, Secretary of the SYRIZA PS Parliamentary Group.
“The nightclubs do not have a large entrance area. Does the building have a 100-square-meter foyer? Where will the certification take place, on the street? Will there be 13 tables for the 13 regions? Will we place them 10 at a time? Will the accreditation of the delegates finish by 10 PM? How many security gates will there be? Where will this be set up? Each security gate requires space,” Ms. Jackri questioned in the same context.
“What QR code? Are you all sure that they have smartphones and know how to operate them, or how the QR code will be scanned? Why are you putting the delegates through this hassle?” continued the MP for Pella, stating that “it is inconceivable that the party does not even cover the transportation costs of the delegates while it recently received 2.5 million euros in state funding.”
“It is clear that a leftist party is moving in a class-stratified manner. Those who have will participate, and those who do not have will not come,” emphasized the Secretary of the SYRIZA PS Parliamentary Group, adding that “the answer does not lie in the hybrid nature of the conference.”
“Because we do not know who is who, I don’t want to hear nonsense about strict identification on Zoom. How do we know who will enter and who will be managing it? Give me answers to these questions! And also, will we have the same issues again? Some will vote openly on Zoom with their faces visible, while others will vote in secret?” she noted.
Certification Criteria
“Also, let’s look at the issue of the KFE. Should we decide that the KOES will designate it? Under what terms, tell me? And the other issue is the committee for certifying delegates. So tell me the criteria by which the delegate certification committee will operate. Shouldn’t we, the KOES, establish this? Because this is an organ that does not relate to the Ethics Committee. I want clear answers on what criteria the Certification Committee will operate, and who sets them,” concluded Ms. Tzakri.
