The new head coach of Panathinaikos, Rui Vitória, landed in Athens just after 12:15 p.m. The Portuguese manager, who will take charge of the “Greens” following Diego Alonso’s departure, spoke to the press for the first time as the team’s coach shortly after he arrived at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport.
Vitória expressed that it is a great honor and privilege to lead a club like Panathinaikos. He added that he has already studied the roster and is eager to get to work, emphasizing his readiness for the “battles” ahead.
“It’s a pleasure to be here. Tomorrow, we’ll likely hold an official presentation. I want to say that I come with high hopes and enthusiasm. I’ve already looked over the Panathinaikos team. Now, it’s time for work rather than words. For me, it’s a joy and a privilege to work for such a big club like Panathinaikos. We are ready to give it our all,” Vitória stated.
