Former Governor of Attica Giorgios Patoulis married his partner, Nancy Koilou, in an intimate ceremony on Sunday, November 3. The event took place at an estate in Koropi, attended by just 50 guests who were asked to leave their phones outside to avoid sharing photos or videos from the ceremony.
On Monday morning, Patoulis posted wedding photos on Instagram, captioning them: “We united in the sacred bond of marriage, receiving our Church’s blessing for a new start filled with health and love. Thank you all for your heartfelt wishes and love. We wish we could have had everyone with us, but due to pregnancy, the ceremony was held with only close family.”
A few moments before the ceremony, Patoulis spoke to reporters, expressing his gratitude and excitement for this new chapter. “Thank you for your patience and for being here with us. It’s a personal, family affair, so it’s a small gathering. But I couldn’t help but come out to thank you and wish everyone the happiness we’re feeling today,” he said. He also shared that the decision to hold a church wedding was prompted by the couple’s upcoming child, adding, “The last message I exchanged with my love was hers, saying how eager she was to see me.”
Absent from the wedding, however, was Patoulis’s 19-year-old son, Alexandros, amid ongoing rumors of a strained relationship with Nancy Koilou. Patoulis commented, “Alexandros knows how much I love him, and I know he loves me too. Since he’s an adult, he makes his own decisions about how he wants to proceed. Our relationship is very good.”
Statements from Family and Friends
Patoulis’s brother, Yiannis, also commented on the ceremony and Alexandros’s absence on the television show Super Katerina, saying, “I’m very happy; we had a lovely time. It was a wedding full of meaning. Our bride was pregnant, and it was beautiful. My brother is a wonderful person, and he’s found someone just as wonderful. They were both very happy.”
Giannis added that although the event was small, it was clear that Alexandros’s relationship with his father remains strong, noting that “he’s grown up now and decides on his own.”
Best Wishes from Patoulis’s Ex-Wife, Marina Stavraki
During the ceremony, Patoulis’s former wife, Marina Stavraki, reportedly spent the day on a trip with their son. She sent her best wishes to the newlyweds in comments made on Super Katerina, saying, “I wish him happiness from the bottom of my heart. May they have a blessed life together, and all the best for the new addition to the family.” She added, “Alexandros is an adult now, making his own choices. We enjoyed a beautiful Sunday trip around Attica and are now just relaxing.”
