Investigators are piecing together the connections to a powerful explosion in an apartment on Arcadia Street in Ampelokipi, which tragically killed a 36-year-old man and left a young woman seriously injured. So far, anti-terrorism authorities have made three key arrests:
- A man who was reportedly near the apartment at the time of the explosion.
- The woman who received the apartment keys, was detained after returning from abroad.
- The injured woman, now in the hospital, was at the scene during the blast.
The investigation is advancing on two fronts: identifying additional individuals linked to the apartment and determining the target of the bomb, which appears to have detonated in the hands of the 36-year-old victim.
Clues Under the Microscope: Phones and Blueprints
Seized mobile phones could reveal critical information, potentially tracing the owners’ movements and communications. This digital footprint may help clarify connections and identify further suspects.
Devastating Scene: The Aftermath of the Explosion
The explosion leveled the apartment, reducing it to rubble and leaving behind a scene of destruction. Images from the scene show a landscape resembling a war zone, with shattered walls, twisted metal, and scattered debris, bearing witness to the force of the blast. Traces of blood among the ruins serve as a somber reminder of the human toll of this devastating event.
As the investigation continues, authorities are focusing on uncovering the motive behind this tragic incident and tracking down everyone involved.
Masks, weapons and blueprints – Counter-terrorism findings
Yesterday Monday (4/11) the National Police released photos of the findings at the destroyed site. Among them stand out the masks and notes with blueprints relating to wiring diagrams.
It should be noted that a case has been filed against the three arrested for membership in a terrorist organization and on occasion committing terrorist acts.
