The results of the US election are not yet final but all indications are that Donald Trump is the big winner and is back in the White House.
But in addition to winning the election, Donald Trump also became the first president since Grover Cleveland in the 1800s to return to office after losing.
The Republican nominee after Biden’s tenure returns to the White House following in Grover Cleveland’s footsteps. Cleveland was the only politician to be President of the United States, lost the next election, and when he reclaimed the White House he won.
More specifically, he served as the 22nd and 24th President of the United States from 1893 to 1897 and from 1885 to 1889. Other presidents, such as Grant, Van Buren, and Roosevelt, attempted returns to the U.S. presidency, but failed.
It is worth noting that Cleveland was a Democrat while Donald Trump was a Republican.
