Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Maximos Mansion.
At the beginning of the meeting, the following conversation took place:
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: “I am so pleased to welcome you once again, Your Holiness, to Maximos Mansion.”
Ecumenical Patriarch: “I am also, Mr. Prime Minister.”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: “You had an extremely successful visit, as always. You know how much we love you, how much the entire Greek people love you, and your presence in our homeland, in these difficult and turbulent times, always gives us strength. You are a source of inspiration, wisdom, and clear thinking, which we need more than ever today.”
Ecumenical Patriarch: “Thank you for your kind words, Your Excellency. I bring the love and blessings of the Mother Church to you personally and to all the devout Greek people.”
“This time we came to open the works of the Theology Congress, which began last night, and today in the afternoon, we will continue towards Sparta, following the invitation of the Saint of Sparta.”
“In the meantime, I visited two dioceses in the region, the Diocese of Nea Ionia and Peristeri, thanks to the brotherly invitation of the Metropolitan brothers. We had a great time, communicated with the clergy of the two dioceses, visited AEK’s facilities, following the invitation of Mr. Melissanidis, and we leave Athens filled with impressions and love.”
“We met with His Beatitude and talked, and we thank you for taking the time to see us and talk before your Cabinet meeting today.”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: “As you saw, we placed the right priorities. First you, and then the Cabinet.”
Ecumenical Patriarch: “Your kindness.”
