Two leading figures discuss the future of museums at Travel.gr's third major conference

Travel.gr, Greece’s leading travel site, and Proto Thema are hosting the 3rd innovative Greece Talks conference on Friday, November 29, at the Grande Bretagne Hotel in Athens. The conference, titled Identity, Future & the Traveler, will focus on tourism in Greece.

Renowned speakers, each a key influencer in their field, will engage in fruitful dialogue on global tourism issues such as sustainability, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and technology. The event aims to highlight why Greece is a strong player in the international tourism scene and explore ways the country can take on an even more active role globally.

Goals of Greece Talks:

  • Showcase Greece’s strengths in all aspects of travel and tourism.
  • Emphasize tourism’s significance to the national economy.
  • Present individuals, ideas, and case studies that mark Greece’s transition into a new era.
  • Inspire strategies, initiatives, and actions to enhance Greece’s image and tourism identity now and in the future.

New Emotions in an Era of Mass Tourism

Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis, General Director of the Acropolis Museum, and Dr. Angeliki Kottaridi, Honorary Curator of Antiquities, will participate in a panel dedicated to the role of museums as travel destinations. The discussion will explore how Greece’s tourism experience, deeply intertwined with ancient Greek culture, evolves through archaeological sites and museums.
