“I’m deeply moved,” stated Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding the opening of the Thessaloniki Metro during his interview on ANT1.
He went on to emphasize, “We overcame countless challenges,” and did not miss the opportunity to address the systemic issues of the past that have now been resolved.
Speaking about Thessaloniki, he compared it to one of the most modern hubs in the Balkans and added, “We are investing in Western Thessaloniki.”
He also referred to a hub of innovation, envisioning a Thessaloniki that will attract technology companies and serve as a city catering to 50 million people, from Istanbul to the Balkans.
“We are making a comprehensive intervention in public transportation,” he noted, adding that the FlyOver project will be completed by mid-2027, providing a solution to Thessaloniki’s traffic problems.
