The Queen Camilla, Charles’ wife, who recently cancelled a number of her obligations, revealed that she was suffering from a form of pneumonia, British media reported today.
Camilla, aged 77, had to cancel her attendance at the welcoming ceremony for Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al-Thani, who is on an official visit to the UK, as the event was held outdoors today.
Buckingham Palace had previously made it known that Camilla was suffering from a respiratory infection, which she contracted a month ago after a trip with Charles to Australia and the Samoa Islands.
Camilla attended a lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Qatari couple and is also expected to attend a reception tonight.
British media reported that Camilla told guests at Buckingham that the respiratory infection was a form of pneumonia.
“She no longer has a cough, but she feels very tired at times,” a royal source told PA news agency.
