The 39-year-old man who confessed to murdering his wife and placing her lifeless body in the attic of their home was arrested shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
According to reports, the man, originally from Albania, called the police that same afternoon and admitted to killing his wife with a hammer. He also disclosed that her body was hidden in the attic of their home in Ampelokipoi.
The call was made shortly after 6:00 p.m., and officers from the Hellenic Police quickly arrived at the scene to investigate.
Upon entering the house, they were immediately struck by a strong odor and discovered black garbage bags in the attic. The Homicide Division was promptly informed and instructed that nothing be disturbed.
The husband told the police that he killed her with a hammer and his bare hands out of jealousy. He claimed that at the time, the children were at school. While it remains unclear if this is accurate, what is certain is that the children had been living in the house throughout the following days.
