A special moment full of emotion and cultural pride was shared by Rethymno lyrist Yannis Giannakakis, as he posted on video the dance of six Cretans outside the Agia Sophia.
He and five other men from Chania and Rethymnon who travelled to Istanbul last Friday participated in the dance.
When they were outside the Hagia Sophia, the five Cretans danced the syrto.
The six Cretans who participated were Giannis Giannakakis, Giorgos Xenakis, Michalis Lymakis, Nikos Lagoudakis, Stelios Gasparakis, while the video that captured the moment was recorded by Giannis Georgalis.
